Meet Sharon

My paintings explore the richness of the natural world—trees, stormy skies, mosses, rocks—through layers of colour, texture, and atmosphere. I am drawn to the lushness of forests and the drama of shifting skies, translating these experiences into oil on canvas or birch panel. My style has shifted over time from strict realism to a looser, more impressionistic approach that prioritizes mood and presence over detail. Some works grow out of my lifelong connection to Glengarry, others from the discoveries I make while traveling, but all are attempts to hold onto the richness of the landscapes that move me.
